📝 Description
This course is the result of thousands of hours spent figuring out how to make cyberpunk cities in Blender that actually look good. Max Hay has refined his process over five years, and he’s packed everything into this course so you don’t have to go through the same trial and error.
The curriculum covers seven full environment projects, each one building on the last. You’ll start with a simple Cyber Cube to learn emissive materials and wet surfaces, then move on to a gritty street scene where you’ll apply photography principles to make the lighting feel natural. From there, you’ll zoom out to a neon junction, then to a giant city using the free BLOSM addon for building layout. Three new environments have been added, including a cozy neon city, a high-rise apartment complex, and a telephoto shot with Chinese signs.
What sets this course apart is the focus on real-world photography techniques. Max shares specific methods he’s learned from taking photos to make your renders feel less “render-y” and more like actual photographs. You’ll also get access to six asset packs, including a 170-piece neon streets pack, industrial models, and a people pack from 3DFarm, all usable in commercial projects.
The course includes a private Discord community where you can get feedback, ask questions, and connect with other environment artists. There’s also a 30-day refund policy, so you can go through the entire course and get a full refund if it’s not for you.
