Learn to define the aesthetic of your audiovisual projects.

With the help of Helio Vega, director of audiovisual art and creator of audiovisual projects for brands such as Coca-Cola, Ford, CBS, Spain Media, Al Jazeera or HBO, you will discover how to become an art director for audiovisual projects.

Starting from a concept, you will create a visual universe, converting ideas into animated graphics, achieving not only an attractive audiovisual piece, but also conceptually well resolved that the filming or animation team can carry out.

To begin, Helio will share with you some tips and useful tips that will help you ignite the spark of creativity. In addition, it will give you some guidelines to find the best idea to develop your projects.

Then, he will tell you about the visual styles he usually uses in his work as an audiovisual art director and he will show you the way he manages a project and a team.

It will be then when you immerse yourself in the direction of art, learning to conceptualize ideas and transform them into animated graphics.

You will learn to look for references that will help you to develop the visual universe of your projects and you will discover how to organize the ideas in storyboards before becoming the final piece.

What is this course’s project?
In this course you will work on three different projects:

You will start with a project inspired by the movie La La Land. Paying attention to its aesthetics, you will create the frames of your own musical credit titles, ready to animate. To carry out this project, in the course, Helio has the help of a cheerleader, although many of the effects he creates with After Effects.

Next, you will put images to a text to create a visual poem.

In the third project you will immerse yourself in the world of the Japanese animation film Akira and create the frames of an animation based on references of the anime itself and Tetsuo, its protagonist.
