Learn to create “blackwork” designs ready to be transferred to the skin
In a very short time, Procreate has become the essential tool for digital illustration in tablets, because of its intuitive interface and the variety of resources and artistic styles with which it can be experimented.

One of the disciplines that have been revolutionized by the irruption of Procreate is the design of tattoos. Tania Maia, a Brazilian tattoo artist based in Peru and participant on three occasions at the NY Empire State Tattoo Expo, incorporates her iPad with Procreate in the process of creating her designs, something that has simplified her life and allows her to obtain more precision and flexibility in their designs.

In this Domestika course you will learn the process to create digital illustrations ready to be transferred to the skin or framed in a frame.

The first thing you will do is to know the trajectory and influence of Tania within the world of tattooing.

You will learn to design and illustrate your tattoo in three phases: preproduction, production and postproduction.

In preproduction, you will learn to assemble a briefing, find references and assemble a collage that will give you an idea of what the final design of your tattoo will look like.

Then, in the production phase, you will make the outline of your design, that is, the skeleton. Then you will learn to create variations within the same design to be able to present different options according to the client’s requirements. The last part of the production process will be to give shadows, volume and textures with simple tricks that Tania will teach you.

Then, you will face the post-production phase, in which you will learn to design the final art of your illustration, giving it the necessary final touches before being exported.

Finally, Tania will give you tips to create a final art for both tattoo and to make an impression of your design.
