📝 Description
This isn’t theory. It’s two pros showing how they actually make pages that people read to the end.
First half is TAKUMI Sameotoko. He starts with the boring-but-important stuff: setup, templates, paneling. Lowers the barrier so you actually start. Then he gets into sketching, inking faces, bodies in motion, backgrounds with real perspective, and that scratchy analog-style pen touch. You also get betas, tone scraping, speed lines, and hand-drawn sound effects that give pages rhythm.
Second half is Yamada Kintetsu. His thing is readability. He says 80% of it is decided in the name (storyboard), and he proves it. He takes a bad name, fixes bubble order, character positions, and background density, and suddenly the same story flows. You learn eye flow control in practice: where the eye lands, where it goes next, how to not tire the reader.
He also digs into characters. How to pull from idea memos, how to bake your specific fetish points and tastes into a design so the cast feels alive, and how to grow story from how a character would act. Then full Clip Studio workflow from draft to finish, plus how to use 3D materials without making it look stiff, and how to handle covers and color pages.
You also get the real talk: schedules, editors, name revisions, what it takes to get serialized. No fluff, just shop talk from guys doing it now.
