Learn to model, light, and render a photoreal forest house interior in 3ds Max and finish it in Photoshop.

Want interior renders that actually sell a project? In this course Phrame shows you their full workflow for a single-family home in the forest, from 2D plans to a polished photorealistic image ready to send to a client.

🎯 What you’ll learn

  • Import 2D plans and build walls, floors, ceilings, and partitions in 3ds Max
  • Model curtain walls, sliding joinery, and custom carpentry from scratch
  • Build a believable forest environment around the house
  • Set up composition, cameras, and V-Ray lighting for test renders
  • Apply textures and dress the scene with furniture, lamps, and props
  • Render final images and post-produce them in Photoshop
  • Add people, fix contrast, and tune materials for a photographic finish

✅ Requirements

  • Skills: Basic knowledge of 3D Studio Max and Photoshop, familiarity with 3D viewport navigation
  • Tools: 3ds Max, V-Ray, Photoshop, Forest Pack, Relink and Quad Chamfer plugins – free versions work fine
  • Hardware: Windows PC with minimum 16GB RAM and dedicated GPU for V-Ray rendering

📝 Description

This isn’t theory. It’s a real studio job, start to finish. Phrame starts with references and 2D drawings, then builds the shell of the house in 3ds Max – walls, partitions, glass, joinery. You learn what to model and what to skip to keep the scene light and fast.

Then comes the part that makes or breaks a render: image-making. You play with composition, camera height, focal length, and V-Ray lighting to get that soft interior daylight. They show you how to run quick test renders first, so you’re not waiting hours to spot a bad shadow.

Finally, you dress everything. Real materials, wood, glass, fabric, plus all the small stuff – chairs, lamps, books, cups. And you close it in Photoshop: contrast, color tweaks, entourage, that last 10% that makes it look like a photo, not a 3D file.
