📝 Description
This one is super practical. You start with words — a logo plus a tagline — and you end with movement. Cyril walks you through his freelance process step by step, no fluff. First you look at what minimalism actually means in motion graphics, then you pull references and build a mood board from a real client-style brief.
From there it gets hands-on. You sketch a storyboard in Illustrator to lock your ideas, then jump into an animatic to test timing before you animate a single keyframe. That part saves you a ton of rework. You figure out how long each shot holds, where the beats land, and what kind of sound you want.
Then the bulk of the work happens in After Effects. Scene by scene, you build clean setups, animate simple geometric shapes, and tie everything to rhythm. Cyril keeps it lean — a few good shapes, smart timing, solid transitions. At the end you add textures and grain so it doesn’t look too vector-clean, mix in sound design and a voice over, and export for sharing.
If your work often feels cluttered or your timing feels off, this course fixes that. You learn to say more with less.

🧑🏫 About the Author
Cyril Calgaro is a freelance 2D animator based in France, working on graphic sequences, short films and client commissions. He pulls a lot from classic cartoon universes and graphic design studios, mixing that influence with a very stripped-back, geometric style. Years of commercial work taught him how to keep projects fast, readable and rhythmic — and that’s exactly what he teaches here.
🏁 Final Result
- A finished minimalist 2D animated sequence built from a logo and tagline, with full sound design — ready to post and add to your reel.
