Author:Erik Gist

Skill level:Beginner

Language:English

Exercise files:Yes

In Bridgman’s Anatomy, you will learn how to study the works of George Bridgman, using the book George Bridgman’s Complete Guide to Drawing from Life. You will look at converting Bridgman’s scratchy, chaotic drawings into clean tonal interpretations, focusing on basic forms and shapes, as well as basic anatomical origins and insertions. You will then use photos of bodybuilders to extrapolate the Bridgman information, while also looking at the works of Frank Frazetta to see how to use Bridgman’s concepts in an illustration. Simply put, this is anatomy for artists, not for surgeons! To get the most out of the course, pick up the Bridgman book. We will provide online resources for you to go to for Frazetta’s works and photos of body builders.
