  • Hardware: Computer running Windows or macOS capable of running Sampler and Stager

📝 Description

This is a fashion-first way into 3D. No coding, no heavy modeling. You start with what you already know — fabric — and learn how to make it behave on screen. We cover the full chain: photo, material, render.

First half is all Substance 3D Sampler. You will learn the UI, then go straight into Image to Material conversion. That means delighting, tiling, and building proper PBR maps so your cotton looks like cotton and not plastic. Then you get into the fun stuff: cloth weave, weave generator, quilted leather from a single swatch, knit textures, embroidered patches, and paint filters for colorways.

Second half moves to Substance 3D Stager. You will set up scenes, drop your materials on garments and accessories, and work with studio lighting, cameras and composition. The goal is simple: renders you can actually put in a portfolio or a client deck, not just viewport screenshots.

The instructor keeps it practical and repeats the core setups until they stick. Once you get the pattern for one material type, you can spin out dozens of variations on your own.
