What makes someone good at art?
If you do your research… You will find many solutions and explanations. Drawing systems, how-to, books, Youtubers, tutorials, core concepts, art foundation, and art fundamentals exist.

Study the basics, Learn perspective, learn anatomy, learn composition, study the masters, go to life drawing, carry a sketchbook, and study everyday things.

Etc etc etc…

I have heard it all. I have read it all. I have done it all. And I have talked to many artists who do all of these things.

And yet, some people get better, and some people do not.
I have many artist friends (almost all of my friends are professional artists). And some will swear by the basics and get a good foundation. Others look at me funny when I start talking about how critical perspective is. Some of the most successful artists I know never studied art foundation. They don’t go to life drawing. They don’t care about that stuff. At. All.

They draw inspiration and direction from the art around them. They pull the stuff they want—a lot.
Depending on the type of art you want to make… You will need to study the basics to a particular degree…

And some of the most skilled artists I know are ruthless in pursuing technical and foundational mastery.
…But studying these things is not what makes the difference.
I’ll tell you what it does…

  1. I’m having trouble with the “[TheDrawingCodex] Line & Color Academy Online Course.7z.002.rar”.

I can extract part 1 but part 2 is stuck as an 002 file. No idea how to extract it.

  2. Hello! Thanks for all the work. Sorry to bother you but the file: “[TheDrawingCodex] Line & Color Academy Online Course.7z.001.rar” says it’s corrupt.

  3. The rars are not corrupt. I use 7-Zip.

First you extract the *.7z.001 and *.7z.002 files into the same folder. Then right click on one of them and extract them again. 7z will see that there are parts and combine them in the extraction process. Again, the files need to be in the same folder.

  4. For the .rar files I’m going to go over what steps worked for me. First of all I had to use 7zip, as winrar kept telling me they were corrupted no matter how I tried to extract it. Put both 1 and 2 in a folder together and extract there together. 1 will extract another .rar file while 2 will extract a different sort of file. Select both the new 1 file and the 2 file and extract both in the same folder again. Then it should work. Hope that helps

  5. Is there any way I can suggest someone helping me out get these courses? :
