Want to make armor that looks like it could actually take a hit? This class walks you through building heavy sci-fi armor in ZBrush from a concept straight to a portfolio render. You will mix organic sculpting with hard-surface modeling and keep everything clean without jumping between ten programs.
🎯 What you’ll learn
- Block out sci-fi and medieval-style armor over a base body with correct proportions
- Build clean plates and edge-loops using masking, polish and trim brushes
- Combine organic forms with hard-surface parts without leaving sculpt mode
- Read concept art and turn it into functional 3D armor design
- Polish, present and structure your work for portfolio with mentor feedback
✅ Requirements
- Skills: Basic understanding of ZBrush interface and digital sculpting basics
- Tools: Drawing tablet, ZBrush installed, Photoshop for presentation
- Hardware: Minimum 16GB RAM, multi-core CPU for high subdivision work
📝 Description
This is not a button-tour. You start from a concept and learn how Vijay breaks it down — what stays soft, what needs to be rigid, and where to put the visual weight. You will work mostly in ZBrush, using masking and extraction, Dynamesh and subdivision levels, and a tight set of polish brushes to get those crisp plates.
A big focus is staying in sculpt mode and still getting clean results. You will learn how to control trim brushes, pinch and polish, and edge behavior so your armor reads sharp from far away and holds up close. No messy lumps, no wavy bevels. Just deliberate, functional shapes.
You also get the mentorship part, which is where most people actually level up. You bring your WIPs, get structured feedback on silhouette, proportions, and design logic, and fix the stuff that kills portfolios — like floating plates, noisy details, and weak presentation. All explanations are in Hindi, straight and practical, built for production use.
