Welcome to part one of my Transformational Anatomy series. This course covers drawing the arm and features over five hours of real-time demonstration with narration.

This is not an introductory anatomy course–the focus here is on manipulating anatomy and discovering what happens to familiar forms as we push them to their boundaries.

We begin with a basic exercise for placing anatomy into free and abstract shapes, and then move on to a variety of arm types. We cover thick arms, thin arms, and arms of unusual materials like stone and wood. We also address contrast, shape, gesture, and many more aspects of draftsmanship that rarely get covered in sped-up footage.

Here is a list of the chapters:

  • Part 1- Intro
  • Part 2- Basics of the Arm and Imaginative Drawing Exercise
  • Part 3- Thick Arms 1
  • Part 4- Thick Arms 2
  • Part 5- Thin Arms
  • Part 6- Alien Arm
  • Part 7- Nature Arm
  • Part 8- Magma Arm
