Learn the full in-house BX process from planning to portfolio with a virtual brand launch.

This class walks you through real BX design exactly how it happens inside companies — from business planning to launch. You will brand a virtual business from scratch, then see how it works on established brands, and walk away with a solid portfolio piece.

🎯 What you’ll learn

  • Build a brand design blueprint (BAP) from business model and brand values
  • Create brand naming, storytelling, and mood boards that actually guide design
  • Design typography-based logos and expand them into visual motifs
  • Design shape and pattern-based identities with posters and applications
  • Combine typography and graphics into hybrid brand concepts
  • Build a consistent color system, icons, and graphic motifs
  • Create BX guidelines and organize work into a hire-ready portfolio

✅ Requirements

  • Skills: Basic understanding of graphic design, no prior branding experience needed
  • Tools: Adobe Illustrator CS4 or later, Adobe Photoshop CS4 or later

📝 Description

Pretty logos don’t sell. This class starts where real work starts — with the business. You’ll learn how to read a company’s vision, business model, and industry, then turn that into a brand experience people actually remember. No fluff, just the planning framework Youngwoo uses inside companies.

You’ll work on a virtual brand like it’s your client. First you build a BAP — a simple blueprint that links core values, mission, and purpose to design decisions. Then you run three full design tracks: typography-led, shape and pattern-led, and hybrid. That way you don’t just get one style, you learn when to use which.

Then comes the part most tutorials skip: making it work in real life. You’ll tighten up logo design, build a flexible color system, develop graphic motifs and icons, and put it all into guidelines a team can actually follow. Plus you get all the original project files to study.

Last part is straight from the field. You’ll see how the in-house team at Bank Salad handles onboarding, office branding, and culture — plus how hiring works, what makes a visual identity portfolio stand out, and how to talk about your work in interviews.

🧑‍🎓 Who this course is for

  • Beginners who want to get into brand / BX design and need a clear process from zero
  • Graphic designers and practitioners who can make pretty stuff but struggle with planning and systems
  • Anyone job-hunting who needs a finished brand project and portfolio that speaks to companies

🧑‍🏫 About the Author

Youngwoo Jeong is currently Head of BX Design at Bank Salad, a fintech company. Before that he worked as a BX designer at Kakao IX, PlusX Advanced Lab, and co-founded AMONG DESIGN — so he’s seen agency, big corp, and startup sides.

His work includes the Kakao Friends global expansion, Studio Kakao Friends, Apeach Omotesando, Banksalad HQ branding, plus F&B brands like Second Kitchen and Ilhosik. He also mentors at Spectrum Con, DDP Young Designer Fair, and One Step. He teaches how to think from a customer’s view, not just a designer’s view, and how to prove your design solves a business problem.

🏁 Final Result

  • A complete virtual brand case — from BAP planning, naming, and mood boards to logo, color system, graphic motifs, icons, posters, applications, and BX guidelines, organized as a portfolio-ready project.
