In this course, we will create a dragon in Blender, as well as a sword, and, okay, a girl. Essentially, we’ll be making a girl with a sword and a dragon around her from scratch in this Blender character creation course!
My name is Niko, and I am a 3D character artist with over 15 years of experience in the game industry. I have more than 22,000 students in my courses on Zbrush, Blender, 3D character creation, and anatomy. I also have two YouTube channels focused on 3D character creation – Speedchar and Speedchar Live ๐
The concept is designed by Sora Kim. We will start by creating the head (as always with my character creations), then we will sculpt the rest of the body, focusing on the specifics of female body sculpting. After that, we’ll move on to creating the sword and pay special attention to its handle. Next, we’ll tackle the dragon. We’ll sculpt its curved body and efficiently add scales using some interesting techniques. Once the dragon is completed, we’ll work on creating ropes, which will require some time. Then we’ll refine various details to prepare for lighting and rendering. Finally, we’ll cover lights, material tests, rendering, as well as creating a turntable animation and shadow plane.
The Dragon Girl in Blender course is probably one of the most complex courses in Blender that I’ve created, mainly intended for intermediate and advanced users. However, beginners with a lot of patience could also give it a try :). For beginners, I recommend taking one of my two beginner courses before attempting this one.
