📝 Description
Look, we’ve all been there. You spend 10 hours on lighting, materials, and composition in your 3D renderers, and the final image still feels… dead. Feng nails why that happens. Back in the early 2000s, students didn’t have fancy tools, so they had to rely on weird ideas, strong stories, and pure play. That’s what gave the work soul.
Now? Everyone has access to the same tools. Same flawless compositions, same stunning lighting, same clean forms. It all looks pro, but there’s no joke, no character, no entertainment left underneath. In this session Feng flips the focus back to what actually matters: does your design make someone smile, curious, or excited?
He doesn’t just rant about it, he shows how he fixes it in class. You’ll hear the exact prompts, exercises, and mindset shifts he uses to get students out of art direction autopilot and back into exploration. Think fast ideation, designing from memory and fun, killing the urge to polish too early. If your work looks good but feels boring, this is the talk you need.
