Hi, I’m Soeun, and this class is designed to help those who find figure drawing challenging. I have always been interested in understanding people’s lives and the emotions we experience when interacting with one another. Drawing people feels like capturing not just their physical appearance but also their essence and emotions.

However, mastering figure drawing took me a lot of time and effort because there weren’t many resources available that focused on human anatomy with clear instructions and guidance. That’s why I created this class – to share the tips and techniques I’ve learned over the years to make figure drawing more accessible and enjoyable.

Understanding the Structure
To effectively draw the human body, it’s crucial to understand its underlying structure. Knowing how to approach and interpret the body’s various parts in the right order is essential. In this class, I will share techniques to help you easily grasp the structure and provide guidance on what elements to prioritize when drawing.

Understanding the Face
While detailed facial features may not always be necessary when drawing figures, correctly placing the eyes, nose, and mouth is important for capturing a person’s likeness. Understanding the structure of the face is key to achieving accurate proportions. I will share a range of study materials and valuable tips that I wish I had known when I was learning on my own.

Understanding the Torso
When drawing figures, the torso is often concealed by clothing, making it challenging to visualize the underlying muscles. However, learning about torso muscles becomes crucial when drawing nudes, athletes, or individuals wearing swimwear where more details are required. Don’t worry though! Drawing torso muscles can be easier than you think, and I’ll guide you through the process.
