If Cloth in Cinema 4D always felt random, this training fixes that. You go from core solver settings to 19 hands-on scenes – pillows, bubbles, stripes, Soft Body drops – all shaded and lit in Redshift and ready to reuse.
π― What you’ll learn
- How the Cloth solver works and which parameters actually change the result
- Difference between Surface, Balloon, Soft Body and Mix Animation modes
- Cloth for modeling and detailing with a pillow example
- Pinning, Balloon maps and mixing keyframed animation with simulation
- Launching cloth on trajectories, twisting, covering and morphing states
- Optimizing heavy scenes and combining Mograph with Soft Body
- Shading and rendering cloth sims in Redshift
β Requirements
- Skills: Basic Cinema 4D interface and modeling, fundamentals of Redshift materials and lighting
- Tools: Cinema 4D 2023.1.3 or newer, Redshift 3.5.13 or newer
- Hardware: Dedicated NVIDIA GPU for Redshift, 16GB+ RAM and fast SSD for simulation caching
π Description
The course is split in two clear blocks. First you get theory in 8 videos – no fluff, just what each slider does in the Cloth engine. Then you jump into 19 practice videos where every setup is built from scratch. Most lessons were recorded in Cinema 4D 2023.1.3 with Redshift 3.5.13, plus update videos for newer features.
In practice you will touch almost every way cloth gets used in motion design. Pinning points and contours, inflating with Balloon force, using Balloon maps to control volume, launching fabric on a trajectory, twisting and stretching bracelets, covering hard shapes, making bubbles by mixing materials. You also get morphing states, dynamic stripes, patch-based geometry and Mograph mixed with Soft Body.
It is built for people who already click around Cinema 4D and Redshift without panic. If heavy intersections explode or caching slows to a crawl, there is a full lesson on optimizing complex interactions. And as a bonus you get the Doodle3 pack with 100+ abstract models to plug your new cloth skills into.
π§βπ Who this course is for
- Motion designers who know basic Cinema 4D and want usable cloth and soft body tricks for abstracts and product shots
- 3D artists rendering in Redshift who are tired of guessing solver values and want repeatable, stable setups
π§βπ« About the Author
Alexey Brin is a Cinema 4D practitioner and instructor at Designar.ru focused on simulation and lookdev. He teaches through short, repeatable builds in Redshift, showing how solver settings translate to a final render. His courses are known for practical scenes you can open, tweak and drop straight into client work.
π Final Result
- A library of finished Cloth and Soft Body scenes – pillows, bubbles, twisted fabric, dynamic stripes and Mograph hybrids – shaded in Redshift and ready for your portfolio
