My name is Mitti and I am an artist specializing in cute bishoujo illustrations. My love for all things pretty and cute began at a young age and continues to inspire my art today. I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge and experiences with my audience, and I hope to continue to improve and grow as an artist.
Semi-rimless coloring with a squishy, warm feel
As an illustrator, I focus on creating soft and warm images that evoke a specific feeling. To enhance this effect, I often choose to leave my illustrations without frames and instead let the image speak for itself. I also experiment with different techniques and styles depending on the mood and emotion I want to convey for the character in the illustration.
I have tried a variety of coloring methods over the years, but have found that Banmu offers the perfect balance of a soft, natural feel and ease of correction. Banmu is a hybrid technique that sits between traditional rimless coloring and cell-style coloring. My approach is to start by coloring the base of the line drawing, and then layering the color on top to create a smoother overall look.
In this class, I’ll be sharing my expertise on how to effectively utilize the semi-rimless Banmu coloring method.
The ratio of characters suited to their own deforms
The focus of my class is on bishoujo characters, which are a popular subject among illustrators. I will be teaching techniques for drawing and coloring these characters, with a particular emphasis on deformes and basic life-size illustrations, which are commonly used when creating cute and beautiful girl characters. We will also be exploring the importance of getting the right body to face ratio when drawing cute characters.
The meticulous rough leads to the completion of the painting.
In my illustration process, I place a strong emphasis on rough sketches. By creating a rough guide that establishes the overall atmosphere and color scheme of a piece, it becomes easier to finalize the illustration. Additionally, many corrections and adjustments are made during the color rough stage, so I will be sharing tips and techniques on how to create effective color roughs.
Correction, a skill that creates perfection!
Illustration retouching is an important skill for any artist to master. I use the functions in Clip Studio to fine-tune my illustrations and ensure they match the desired mood and feel. I typically make a large set of adjustments during the color rough phase, and make any final tweaks at the end of the process. In this class, I will demonstrate how to use correction techniques to create a specific atmosphere in an illustration. For example, I will show you how to use warm colors to evoke a sense of warmth and make the image appear brighter.
My character is made up of elements I like
Are you inspired to create cute and pretty characters of your own? In this class, I will guide you step by step on how to incorporate elements that will bring your character to life and make it unique. You will learn how to take into account the character’s setting and backstory to create a well-rounded character sheet that stands out.
Creating illustrations can be a fun and enjoyable experience, but sometimes we can hit a creative block that makes it difficult to move forward. I have had my own struggles with completing illustrations, but through my experience, I have found ways to overcome these obstacles. In this class, I want to share my tips and tricks to help you create attractive and complete illustrations. Let’s work together to overcome any roadblocks and create amazing art!
