This course is your comprehensive guide to learning Niagara VFX in Unreal Engine 5. You will learn how to create a variety of VFX effects, including Portal FX, Rain FX, Projectile FX, Energy Strike, character disintegration, and more. The course is designed to start from the basics and build up your skills step by step.

The first section of the course will introduce you to the foundational concepts of Niagara for creating different VFX. You will learn by creating Dandelion FX and flame thrower effects. We will begin by examining the different emitter stages within Niagara, then proceed to use the sprite renderer to gain familiarity with various Niagara modules.

With the knowledge and skills acquired in the first section, in the second part of the course, we will create a variety of VFX such as Portal FX, Hit Impact FX, Butterfly FX, Meteor Attack, Laser Attack, Energy Strike, and Projectile FX like Blade Slash and Flying Sword. We will start by modifying the master materials created in the previous section to support additional VFX features for the Portal FX. Then, we will use blueprint to create a VFX spawner and use it to spawn hit impact surface and hit impact body FX. After that, we will explore the three most important states that a VFX must have in order to be complete by creating a Meteor Attack. Then, we will use Blender to create a projectile mesh for our Niagara and use blueprint to help us spawn Blade Slash and Flying Sword VFX.

In the third section of the course, you will learn how to create Follow the Leader FX, Rain FX, Waterfall FX, and different dissolving effects for textures, static meshes, and skeletal meshes. We will begin by covering the fundamental concepts that are necessary for creating a custom Niagara module. Then, using our knowledge of Niagara parameters and namespaces, we will create the Follow the Leader FX. We will also create an advanced version of it by using a bit of vector math and calculations in custom modules. Then, we will explore how to create Rain FX, Waterfall FX, and dissolving FX for textures, static meshes, and combine them with Distance Field to create dynamic character disintegration.

This comprehensive Niagara VFX course is the most complete online learning experience you will find. By the end of it, you will have the skills and knowledge to create any type of VFX you desire. Not only that, but you will also have a deep understanding of Niagara’s emitter stages, the ability to create custom modules, and the ability to use blueprint to spawn VFX. Additionally, you will be able to create realistic VFX like rain, waterfall, and meteor attack, dynamic character disintegration and many more. With all these skills and knowledge, you’ll be able to take your VFX skills to the next level and create stunning visual effects for your projects.

  • Individuals interested in mastering the use of Niagara to create VFX within Unreal Engine 5
  • Aspiring VFX artists looking to learn the creation of VFX materials
  • Those eager to gain knowledge on creating VFX meshes
  • Enthusiasts looking to learn about creating environment FX for their projects.
