In this advanced course, you will have the opportunity to model, texture, and create the rig for Axolotl, a young marine detective character. This course builds upon the previous courses where you learned about Axolotl’s psychological profile and created the 2D artwork for the character. Now, it’s time to take your skills to the next level and bring Axolotl into the 3D realm. Here’s what you can expect from this course:
- Modeling: You will learn the techniques and workflows for creating a 3D model of Axolotl. This includes sculpting the character’s anatomy, defining the proportions, and adding the necessary details to bring Axolotl to life in three dimensions.
- Texturing: Once the model is complete, you will explore the process of texturing the character. You will learn how to unwrap the UVs of the model, create high-quality textures, and apply them to different parts of the character to achieve realistic and visually appealing results.
- Rigging: Rigging is the process of creating a skeleton and controls for the character, allowing it to be posed and animated. In this course, you will learn how to rig Axolotl, setting up joints, IK (inverse kinematics), FK (forward kinematics), and other rigging components to provide flexibility and control over the character’s movements.
By the end of this course, you will have gained advanced skills in character modeling, texturing, and rigging. You will have successfully brought Axolotl from a 2D concept to a fully realized 3D character ready for animation. This course will empower you to create professional-grade 3D characters and expand your capabilities as a character artist.
