Table of Contents

Lesson 1
Defining Motion Design
The subject of motion design can sometimes be a broad one. In this lesson, Jorge will walk you through what exactly motion design means to him by covering the historical background of the medium as well as exploring some of the basic tools for creating simple animations.

Lesson 2
The 10 Principles of Motion Design
While conventional animation may have 12 basic principles, Jorge believes this can be consolidated to only 10 for motion design. Get a firsthand look at each of these 10 Principles of Motion Design, all conveyed through simplistic example animations, before learning the various tools of Adobe After Effects to implement them.

Lesson 3
Concept Before Animation
No piece of motion design can reach its full potential without a strong concept. Here, Jorge will walk you through his techniques for defining the core idea and visual language of his project by crafting beautiful storyboard frames in Photoshop and Illustrator.

Lesson 4
Focusing on Animation
Time to bring it all home! Learn the basics of Adobe Audition to finesse the audio in your final piece, and import all of your assets from the previous lesson to begin animating. Jorge will finish off the course by doing an extensive demonstration of his process in After Effects, completing his entire motion design piece from scratch.
