📝 Description
Kina Kazuharu is known for that clear, humid summer feeling in her work. Girls who look like they are really standing there. This course breaks down why that happens. It is not magic. It is camera distance, eye level, angle of view, and light choices made early.
You start by painting one full piece fast, mistakes included. Then you rewind and learn the tools that make the second piece stronger. Rule of thirds, perspective rulers, cropping, color roughs. Short lessons, straight to the point. You see how she fixes a flat composition and how she decides what to leave out of the frame.
The middle section is all about color as light. How noon, morning, and sunset change skin, hair, and clothes. How to set up backlighting without muddying the character. How to use masks and overlay colors so the character sits in the same air as the sky. She paints clouds, trees, and distant buildings while talking through aerial perspective – why far things get bluer, lower contrast, and less detailed.
Then you build the hero piece together from zero. Gathering references, shooting photos for ideas, picking motifs for seasonality, designing the color script, posing with 3D models in CLIP STUDIO PAINT, cleaning up line art, auto-separating layers in Krita, coloring hair and skin with light direction locked, then pushing the background back with blur and opacity control.
The finish is where Coloso courses shine. Added scatter light, sun flare, reflected light in hair, warm-to-cool gradients across the image, adjustment layers for tone curves and selective color, plus depth of field for that photo-like pop. She also shows her self-review habit – comparing old and new work, finding one fix for next time, and staying in a loop where you actually finish pieces.

🧑🏫 About the Author
Kina Kazuharu is a freelance illustrator with over 10 years in books, games, ads, and merch. Her work includes cover illustration for novels and study magazines, package art for PINO and Azone International, and character design for the PS4 game Iwaihime -Matsuri-.
She is fully self-taught, which shows in how she teaches. Less dry theory, more working habits. Her artbooks like Hatsukoi, Koishi, and Seishun Joshikousei, plus solo shows like Aoi Haru, built her name for humid, nostalgic light and girls who feel present in a real place. In this course she shares that process in plain language, including the mental side of finishing work consistently.
🏁 Final Result
