The second botanical watercolor course includes ten practical assignments that will appeal to both beginners and advanced students. We decided to make it a continuation of the first course, without making the tasks too complicated but shifting the focus slightly. This time, Daria Kutsaeva will offer to delve deeper into working with textures and learning watercolor techniques.
During the classes, you will paint a pumpkin sliced in half, smooth plums and fluffy peaches, noble protea and common thistle, exotic palm leaves, fragrant lilacs, dark irises, and delicate white roses. We will work wet-on-wet and dry-brush techniques, learn to achieve realistic textures, show even the smallest details, convey volume, shape, and characteristics of each plant. You will learn how to mix beautiful green hues, see subtle tonal relationships, and even paint white on white!
The result of the course will be nine artworks created under the guidance of the teacher.
On this course, you will be painting flowers, fruits, and vegetables to learn how to see color, feel shape, and accurately determine suitable watercolor techniques for depicting different plants. When is it better to paint wet-on-wet, and when to use glazing techniques – Daria Kutsaeva will explain all of this during the classes.
On this course, you will learn to find proportions and convey the character of each plant using appropriate tools and techniques. You will select colors, observe, compare, stylize, and work, work, and work again. Because botanical watercolor loves those who are patient and perseverant! To succeed in this genre, you will need to study nature carefully and strive to depict it as accurately and realistically as possible.
