Design a CD cover modeling real scenography
Are you interested in revolutionizing your approach to work by venturing into the realm of 3D? Join Óscar Sanmartín in this course where he teaches you how to design an album cover using a miniature 3D diorama or scenography. By breaking free from the constraints of 2D, you’ll uncover a myriad of possibilities to create a lifelike setting with readily available materials. Plus, pick up some fundamental tips for capturing high-quality photographs of your models and digitally enhancing them.

What will you learn in this online course?
Illustration can be just as lifelike as the real world. Release your illustrations from their two-dimensional constraints and discover the potential of three-dimensional techniques. Develop your skills in constructing characters and objects with depth and texture using straightforward and efficient methods. Óscar will also introduce you to the fundamentals of lighting, allowing you to create a miniature photography studio with minimal expense. Additionally, you’ll learn some of Óscar’s digital retouching tips for adding that special touch to your images.

What is this course’s project?
Create the album cover of your dreams by crafting a miniature set and using a photograph of it as the illustration. Let your imagination run wild as you construct a lifelike scene with everyday materials. With the techniques you’ve learned in the course, you’ll be able to give your set depth and texture, and capture it with professional-looking photographs. Use your unique vision and skills to design an album cover that perfectly represents the music within.

Requirements and materials
Previous experience in modeling, sculpture, or photography is not required, although familiarity with Photoshop and digital retouching is beneficial.

For materials, modeling tools like an airbrush and mini drill may be used, but simpler methods and more common materials can be substituted for the same effect. Styrene sheets are an example of such materials.

A compact digital camera is suitable for photographing the diorama, so there’s no need for sophisticated photography equipment.
