Are you interested in animation but not quite sure where to start? If that sounds like you then this class is just what you’re looking for!

In this class, you will be learning how to create a basic pendulum swing! In order to achieve the pendulum swing animation, we will be discussing many of the principles of animation. I will walk you through the animation process as well as showing you how to render your project using Adobe Animate.

For the class project, we will be animating a pendulum swing that comes to a stop with a resting position. Our goal is to create an animation that has fluid and believable movement. To achieve this, I will teach you about animation principles such as:

  • Slow in and Slow Out
  • Arcs
  • Timing
  • Staging
  • Solid Drawing
  • Anticipation

I have provided an example of the animation as part of the project file for the class. Feel free to study my animation to gain an understanding of how to animate your own. When posting your project feel free to share your work in progress! I will do my best to give feedback and critique for everyone who submits a project to the class! Thank you for taking an interest in the class and I look forward to seeing your class project!
