Let’s be honest, Photoshop can be a pixel-based nightmare. If there are many ways to accomplish the same task, why do so many feel wrong? Whether it’s a “quick retouch” that deteriorates into an abstract painting or a misfit character that never receives that “spark” of life, Photoshop is a utility that often feels more like a curse than a blessing… But what if we told you we could help dispel some of its mysterious magic?

In this class you will learn digital painting, color and lighting techniques in Photoshop for characters. We’ll cover form/value, basic light setup, how different materials may react to light and basic Photoshop painting techniques. Students will start with a character drawing and take it to a final painted finish.
