Webtoon Shortcuts Workshop by Kris Nguyen

/

Release date:2021, September 15

Author:Kris Nguyen

Skill level:Beginner

Language:English

Exercise files:No

Sometimes you won’t have time to make every full colored panel look polished- and that’s fine, because it’s completely not necessary. Working on a long-term comic can be stressful and overwhelming, and the finish line can feel unreachable at times. Let’s face it- readers digest your story so fast that they won’t spend very long admiring that one panel you spent 5-10 hours on. So let’s figure out how we can focus on that ONE impact shot, while speeding through other panels that does not cost you overtime!

From this workshop you will learn how to allocate your time wisely during production, break down a script in the most efficient way, learn how to use 3-D tools to speed up your process, and compile re-usable asset sheets of your own line work, backgrounds, props, etc.

This will be taught in a webtoon format, a style of webcomic specifically made for easy mobile viewing, where the layout is arranged in a vertical scrolling format. However, this workshop is adaptable to all formats of comics!

  1. As a broke student I appreciate this, hopefully one day I’ll be able to support the author. Could you please upload the course “Let’s make a webtoon!” aswell?
