The focus of this course is to apply anatomical knowledge in drawing the figure. Knowing anatomy is not equivalent to being able to use it in drawing. It is necessary to have a clear understanding of the basic three dimensional structure of the figure in simple forms of construction as the first step in building a figure from a gesture. Anatomy in action is applied to the underlying basic three dimensional forms that help to show the action even more clearly. You can not draw something is you do not know what it looks like.
Anatomy
Each week of the class will focus upon a specific part of the body showing it’s basic construction and the anatomy related to it plus examples and demonstrations. The students will focus upon the elements discussed in the lectures, as will the crits. There is considerable overlapping as the various parts of the body are interconnect and a primary element in our drawing is the interaction of the various elements of anatomy in action.

Hello! I truly, deeply wanted to say thank you for building this amazing site! My sister really love drawing (and so do I), but I currently cannot afford to get what she loves due to my financial state. That’s why this website is a huge tremendous miracle to me! You don’t know how happy she is when I showed her the videos I downloaded from here. She watched Youtube tutorials of course, and they all also great. But, sometimes they could be incomplete, unpolished, or unfinished, and it made us feeling stuck as to where to go next and how. Then, I found Udemy and The Great Course, but the price are quite high for my budget right now….So, when I discovered this site I’m jumping with glee! You don’t know how happy I am! I know it sound likes an exaggeration, but this is how I feel. Please forgive my grammar as I’m currently not very good at it, and English is not my Mother-Tongue. This is really great. Thank you so much. While there are many great courses available already one beginner course I have been waiting for is drawing essentials from Glen Vilppu. Its way too expensive at vilppu academy and it’s not available anywhere else. If you could upload it, it will help a lot of beginners to move forward to lot of advanced courses you have already uploaded here. Thank you
