What’s the course about?

This course is about creating a stylized rockstar goat character based on a concept I did some time ago. It will be stylized and heavily influenced by one of my favorite movies, Zootopia from Walt Disney Animation Studio. I was inspired by Zootopia’s character design. The entire character is modeled from scratch with the mindset that it will be used for animation.

So, in general, I will address modeling, texturing, grooming, look development, rendering, and post-processing.

Who is the course for?

I prepared this course intending to help you create your first portfolio piece.

In learning 3D programs, you often end up watching many tutorials that could be better structured, and all you have is just a work in progress that doesn’t show your skills are very common.

So, in this course, we will work together on a project from start to finish to create one final image that best shows our skills to clients. And if you have some essential 3D modeling experience yet are struggling to make high-quality photos, this course is for you,

This course is not for absolute beginners. Instead, it is for someone who has a basic understanding of 3D modeling and has some basic working knowledge in programs like Maya, Zbrush, and Substance Painter, but if you are a total beginner and curious to learn some general workflows that will help you with your journey in becoming a better artist, feel free to take this course. You will find many tips and tricks to become a better 3D artist.

What are the requirements?

I will use industry-standard programs like Zbrush for modeling, Substance Painter for texturing, Autodesk Maya for UV mapping, grooming in Xgen, and final rendering using Vray. And lastly, I will use Photoshop for post-processing.

Regarding hardware requirements, you need a decent workstation or gaming PC with at least 16 GB RAM and dedicated graphics card memory; especially when we do grooming, things could get a little slower if you have a lower-end PC.

Another nice thing is a pressure-sensitive tablet; it can be just a graphics tablet or a pen tablet.

So these are some requirements that would help you follow this course.

Once you download this course, you will find all the course videos organized into five chapters. In addition, you will get the resource files under project files.
