Watercolor pencils are a versatile material.

Consider this: with watercolor pencils, you can work dry, just like regular colored pencils. However, you can also dilute them with water or combine them with paints, markers, and liners. Watercolor pencils are great for children’s illustration, but they can also be used to create complex hyperrealistic drawings.”

The learning process is structured from simple to complex and begins with theory. First, we will talk about the pencils themselves: we will see how they work dry, how they blend with water, and how they combine with other artistic materials. In the introductory lesson, Nika Sabrekova will explain the basics of linear perspective. In the future, this knowledge will be useful for creating architectural landscapes.

After the theory, we will move on to practice and perform tasks, moving from simple to complex. You will work with still lifes, landscapes, and animal art, draw realistic and even hyperrealistic paintings, as well as create several illustrations. The teacher will explain how to choose the best technique for each task.

Together with Nika, you will create 14 drawings using watercolor pencils and additional materials. The course can be taken independently with feedback. After completing it, you will confidently master the material and gain an understanding of different genres and techniques.
