Basics of Watercolor Painting 2.0 by Darya Kutsaeva (Основы акварельной живописи 2.0 – Russian, Eng sub)

This course’s assignments are mature, serious, very useful, but not boring at all! We are not creating bright postcards; we are working on real watercolor paintings. We are not drawing specific images according to instructions; we are developing universal methods of working with watercolor, mastering general principles that can be applied when creating any other drawing.

In the course, we talk about working with color, finding perspectives, density, and brightness of colors, negative and positive spaces, ways of leaving light on a dark background. We work with various subjects: drawing flowers, ice cream, European cities, glassware, wrought-iron furniture, girls in dresses, seashells, birds, and even vegetables.

We move on to a large format and learn to work on a larger scale: using a sprayer, using saucers as a palette. Watercolor will flow like a river, and you will definitely enjoy it!
