Understanding perspective and how to sketch basic volumes in perspective is the foundation of a designers skill set. In this course, Markus Wachter and Berk Kaplan will teach you the basics of perspective sketching for automotive design.
In this course, you will learn about the most important ingredients for a successful automotive design. The proportions. Berk Kaplan will explain to you what it is and why proportions are important and David Seesing shows you nine of the most common Proportions and vehicle typologies that are out there. He explains how the shape of these packages is driven by their use case and the layout of the internal components. As a designer, it’s important to be able to design vehicles from different segments and to understand the restrictions and proportions of these packages.
Why do some sketches look better than others even though, they have the same perspective, same design same proportions? This is often due to line weight and line quality. In this course Berk Kaplan and Markus Wachter teaching, how you can generate a good line quality within your sketches and what line weight actually means. Together with Francesco Binaggia, berk is teaching you also the basics of shading on a car sketch, which will support the line weight and shows the basic volumes.
In this course, you will learn how to use the practice files prepared by Berk Kaplan. By sketching on the practice files you will get used to different proportions and perspectives which will help you, later on, to sketch your cars from zero.
