You will learn how to block-in the major shapes and facial structures with a constructive approach, creating three-dimensional form by applying subtle tonal transitions that follow the rhythms and planes of the face. In this lesson, master draftsman and painter Danny Galieote will provide a variety of examples of drawing the figure with a quick-sketch approach appropriate for two to five minute poses. You will learn how to use gesture, opposing rhythms and general alignments to get a solid lay-in of the figure. Then you will be given several techniques for quickly indicating the overlapping and wedging forms in order to lead the eye. These techniques will help to give your quick-sketches solidity, movement, and appeal.

In this lesson draftsman and painter Danny Galieote will demonstrate drawing a variety of heads from many different angles, giving you a consistent approach to drawing the head. You will learn how to relate the structural alignments of the brow to the ears, nose, mouth and chin to help orient your heads in space. Structure of the Head.
In this lesson, draftsman and painter Danny Galieote will give you a broad overview of the major planes and structures of the head. You will learn how the head can be thought of as a three-dimensional sculpture in space, as you carve into spheres or boxes, then placing the features of the face within the larger forms. Next, you will be given a demonstration of the ‘rhythms of the face’ which will interact with the planes and provide you with a roadmap to follow as you design and render tones within the facial features.
Structure of the Torso.
Master draftsman and painter, Danny Galieote demonstrates techniques and concepts on how to approach drawing the male and female torso. First you will see how the anatomical landmarks can help you find the major structural planes within the torso. Then you will build on the structural components as you begin to see how the tonal accents are used to reinforce the perspective and three dimensional form within the figure.
