Creating a solid and coherent proposal for an animated spot is key to achieving a worthy piece of prizes. Germán Acuña and Sebastián Ruz, founders of the Carburadores animation studio, are perfectly aware of the creative processes and techniques to come up with a great proposal, this is what their work says for clients such as GreenPeace, DirecTV, Colgate and awards at festivals such as Cannes and El Ojo de Latin America
In this course you will learn the stages of development of an animated spot and you will learn to conceptualize and preproduce a proposal through an styleframe .
About this course
You will meet Germán and Sebastián, they will tell you their personal trajectory, how they created their own animation studio and what were the key projects that led them to be recognized.
Briefly, they will explain the different types of animation products that exist. You will learn which are the four stages of an animated production, the importance of planning and the role of the producer in each of them.
You will deepen in the development of the animation proposal. First, you will know the process of Carburetors to interpret a script or brief agency to identify the main concepts and attributes to gather them in a document they call the “communication compass”.
Your next step will be to build a moodboard that will be your main reference to achieve the visual concept in an styleframe , and also the treatment of the spot, which is to download your proposal visual.
Finally, with Germán and Sebastián, you will start creating your styleframe . You will prepare the files, perform color and composition exercises to build the final styleframe of your proposal from scratch.

You will make the visual proposal of an animated commercial spot through an styleframe or style box.

As for materials, you will need a pencil, paper, computer with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator installed and a graphic tablet (Wacom or similar).
