Carolina Jiménez – visual effects artist for cinema specializing in layout – has been working in the film industry for more than ten years and has participated in large audiovisual productions such as the trilogy of The Hobbit , Star Trek Beyond , The League of Justice , Planet of the Apes 2 or Prometheus . Her job is to unify all the elements provided by other professionals -animators, modelers, texturizers, illuminators, etc.- to create each shot, making a simple chroma turn into an incredible scene that makes the viewer dream. This has allowed her to know all the workflows and to understand the functions of each department.

In this course Carolina will explain in detail what the pipeline or workflow in VFX consists of for audiovisual productions. It will tell you about the complicated scheme of interactions between all of them, in the different phases of film production, providing you with the theoretical basis so that you can choose which department you would like to specialize in when working on visual effects.

You will begin by getting to know more about Carolina’s work, who will review the history of post-production in the cinema and will tell you about some of her influences and what inspires her.
