Unity Game Audio Adding Sound to a Game for Beginners

/

Release date:2021, June

Duration:03 h 47 m

Skill level:Beginner

Language:English

In this course, you’ll learn how to navigate the Unity game engine and add sounds to bring your scenes to life.

Each section covers a fundamental aspect of sound design implementation, enabling you to handle most basic games. Think of it like drawing the human body—you need to grasp the fundamentals before creating stylized character designs. By the end of this course, you’ll be equipped to apply and experiment with sound design in smaller games.

Throughout certain sections, you’ll receive game objects and free-to-use audio files. These include scripts I’ve written and assets from Unity’s Asset Store, so you can focus on the course without creating your own sound assets. However, feel free to use your own sound assets for practice or experimentation.

SUMMARY

You’ll learn how to:

  • Create immersive environments with ambiance and music.
  • Script and integrate audio into animations, actions, and UI elements in Unity.
  • Add character-specific sounds like footsteps.
  • Utilize Unity’s Audio Mixers for mixing and fine-tuning.

I developed this course because I couldn’t find any comprehensive ‘sound in Unity’ tutorials on Udemy or YouTube. When I was a student, I wished for a tutorial that covered the basics and advanced concepts, and this is what I’ve created. I hope it fills a gap and proves valuable to learners.

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about this course.
