We have just released a brand new course – Stop Motion Animation.
I wanted to make a stop-motion course for a long time, but it was hard to find the right person to make it. That’s why I was so excited when Thomas Evans agreed to work on it.
He’s been making stop-motion videos on YouTube for almost 10 years. He’s used anything from Legos, clay, and cut-out for his stop-motion videos.
And the course he created is, well… Awesome.
It teaches all the basics of setting up for making stop-motion animation, as well as how to use Dragonframe, the industry standard for stop-motion
So what will you learn in this course?
We start by going over the basic principles of stop motion. What you’ll need to setup a proper stop motion environment, as well as a quick overview of Dragonframe – the industry standard program for stop-motion animation.
After covering the basics of how stop motion works, we go over connecting and setting up a camera, as well as how to light our scene.
Then we show how to build a set for our animation sequence, and construct a clay character from scratch.
When our assets are ready, we get into animating all the shots for our sequence. We cover Dragonframe’s planning tools, audio tools, onion skinning & toggling, and even lip syncing.
When our animation is ready, we show how to export our images from Dragonframe into an editing program such as Premiere, and learn how to use After Effects for rig removal and working with RAW files.
The best starting point
We’ve designed this course specifically for aspiring animation filmmakers interested in making their own stop-motion animations.
With 5 modules and 27 video lessons, this course will provide you with complete understanding of the entire process of making stop-motion shorts from start to finish, and will help you take the next steps to making your own idea come to life.
