If you want to awaken the imagination and the desire to create children, Julia Abalde and Clara Sáez – illustrators and creators of the stamp set Pin Tam Pon and authors of the children’s book Tris, Tras! – invite you to their Factory in this course of Stamps: an imaginary place where you will discover the basics of the world of stamping through fun games and experiments.
In this course children — and adults too — will learn to design and manufacture a set of stamps that can be combined with each other. Julia and Clara will be the hosts, who will accompany you on your visit to the rooms of this factory such as the laboratory, the warehouse or the assembly line, among others. Along the way you will meet new techniques, materials, ideas and also some other characters that will guide you in the process of creating your own pack of stamps.
What will you learn in this online course?
You will meet the creators of Pin Tam Pon, Julia Abalde and Clara Sáez. They will share with you the tricks and ideas they have discovered in the years they have been manufacturing stamps and holding children’s workshops, all with shapes and lots of imagination. Then, they will talk about them, the projects they have done together so far and everything they like and motivate to create. Then they will welcome you to the Tam Pon Pin Seal Factory.
You will start the factory tour. Your first stop will be the Experiments Laboratory; a room where you will learn what stamping is and where you will put into practice fun stamping exercises using homemade objects and materials and even, your own body! All with the aim of shaking your imagination and opening yourself to new creative possibilities.
Next, you will visit the Machine Room where you will get to work with your main mission: to build a set of combinable stamps. In the Warehouse you will know the materials you need and where to get them, and then, in the Brainstorming Booth , you will be filled with ideas and resources to design a family of shapes that match.
Once you have clear what you want to manufacture you will enter the Assembly Chain, learning step by step how to build your stamps and finishing with the creation of a packaging , to save and protect them.
They will say goodbye in the fourth unit, but not before sharing with you the techniques and tricks of expert, so that you get the most out of your stamp game. In addition, you will make a final visit to the Department of Crazy Ideas, a corner of the factory where the most crazy ideas are developed that will inspire you to grow your family of stamps.
Throughout this adventure you can count on our company in the forum, where Julia and Clara will be happy to see the results of your process and available to help you with any questions you have.
