Learn to tell a character story through editorial portrait
A large part of a photographer’s job is to try to capture in an image everything that our eyes fail to see, such as the essence of people, of spaces, and the possibility of capturing all those stories behind. Ricardo Pinzón, is a consecrated photographer who has that innate talent of capturing the aura of characters and transferring him to his editorial photographs.

In this course Ricardo will teach you to tell stories through portraiture. You will take a series of photographs of the person you choose, and it will guide you so that you can transmit that essence so important that it helps your image to tell a story.

What will you learn in this online course?
You will start by knowing the photographer Ricardo Pinzón, he will tell you a little about him and his professional career, as well as the references that have defined the style of his work.

You will learn how you work on a daily basis for magazines, and discover more about the publishing world.

You will see what the creative process of your project is: from beginning to think about the concept of photographs to transmitting a story. Investigating your character will help you find the concept to convey. Then you will prepare the preproduction of the session, where your ideas will begin to become photographs.

You will find out how the dynamics are in the photo shoot and everything that is needed, such as equipment or materials. Ricardo will give you some tips to deal with the model in the session, making him feel safe at all times.

You will discover how you can make your lighting schemes and see how to improvise with the light during the photo shoot.

After the session, you must make a selection of photographs, taking into account what you want to communicate and start with postproduction. Ricardo will give you the keys to retouch and reveal your photographs, so that you finish contributing your vision.

You will end up putting together your story in the editorial layout, checking that there is a coherence between the photographs and that the objective of your project has really been fulfilled.
