About the Course:
Level design is the process of designing game spaces, levels, and locations. No game in which players can move around can do without a level designer: they are responsible for where the player can go and what emotions they will experience.
To make the course as useful as possible, we have created our own content within which locations will be created. You don’t need to know how to model – the placeholders are already prepared, you don’t need to be a programmer – the code is already written, you don’t need to know how to work in Unity – we will show you where to start at the beginning of the course.
When designing a level, it is important to think like a player – to understand what they feel and how they will act. It is much more important than just “making it look nice” – to think with your head and realize what you want to say to the player. This is what our course is dedicated to.
This course is suitable for you if:
- You are a beginner, love games and want to work in game development, but currently don’t know how to model, code or draw.
- You are just starting out as a level designer and want to improve the quality of your work to earn more and receive more interesting tasks.
- You are an indie developer and want to create exciting levels for your own projects.
- You work as an environment artist and want to create not just beautiful, but well thought-out locations.
To teach you how to create level designs that will capture the attention of players. You will receive the foundational knowledge needed for a level designer: you will learn how to direct the player’s attention and emotions, navigate the game, create arenas, and work with game space. The end result of the course will be your own playable level that adheres to industry standards.
