Transforming Geometric Shapes into Dynamic Animations: A Cinema 4D and MoGraph Workshop with Fabrício Lima

Discover the art of creating captivating and energetic animations from basic geometric shapes in this engaging workshop. Led by visual artist and director Fabrício Lima, known for his work with renowned brands like Citröen, Cirque du Soleil, and Heineken, you’ll learn how to bring simple shapes to life with complex animations that creatively express your unique style.

In this course, you’ll learn how to create looping animations using primitive objects and powerful tools in Cinema 4D. Through a variety of techniques, you’ll explore creating animated loops featuring different shapes such as cubes, pyramids, and spheres. Fabrício will also share practical insights on art direction and project export, helping you elevate your animation skills to new heights.

What will you learn in this online course?
The course begins with an introduction to your instructor, Fabrício Lima, as he shares his professional background and self-taught journey in animation. He also discusses his sources of inspiration and provides an overview of the course content.

Next, you’ll become familiar with Cinema 4D by exploring its interface and learning about primitive objects. You’ll also discover how to use loop features and MoGraph tools to add dynamism and versatility to your work. Then, you’ll learn how to compile and organize reference materials to develop your concept.

Once you have a solid foundation, it’s time to put your ideas into motion. Fabrício will teach you a variety of techniques to create animated loops using different primitive objects, and show you how to add other elements to elevate your project to the next level.

After animating your pieces, you’ll focus on the finishing touches. This includes aspects of art direction such as positioning lights and cameras, and applying colors and textures to enhance the overall aesthetic. You’ll also work on your file and adjust the settings for the selected renderer, which in this case is Redshift, in preparation for the composition and finalization phase.

As the final step, you’ll import your Cinema 4D renders into After Effects to retouch the light and color, and learn how to export your completed file, ready to share your animated masterpiece with the world.

What is this course’s project?
Create five- to ten-second animated loops in an mp4 format using objects and effects created in Cinema 4D.
