📝 Description
This is not theory for theory’s sake. It’s six short courses stacked into one working process: find the angle, sketch it out, pick the right typography, lock the composition, then push it to a finished poster.
You start with inspiration and references, then Miguel Frago from 12caracteres walks through how to turn a loose idea into a clear message. No fluff — just how concept, layout, and emotion work together when someone only gives your poster two seconds.
Then BlueTypo flips the table with experimental typography. You will use mental maps, play with information hierarchy, and mix hand-made marks with digital tools. Perfect if your type always ends up looking too safe and you want posters with more edge.
The second half is all about use cases. Marte builds event posters in Adobe Illustrator from zero to final, David Plunkert shows his theater approach with ink and collage plus digital finish, and Bruno Miranda closes with film posters and album covers in Adobe Photoshop full of pop color and texture. Same core skills, totally different outputs.
You will need pencils and a sketchbook alongside Photoshop and Illustrator, because a lot of the good stuff starts on paper. By the end you have not just exercises, but a small series of finished pieces that show range.
🧑🎓 Who this course is for
- Aspiring designers and illustrators who want to get into poster work for events, theater, film, and music

🧑🏫 About the Author
BlueTypo is a design practice focused on experimental typography and poster design, known for mixing analog processes with digital production. Their work plays with letterforms, hierarchy, and bold layouts to turn information into visual impact.
For this specialization they are joined by Miguel Frago from 12caracteres, Marte, David Plunkert, and Bruno Miranda — working designers and illustrators with real credits in graphic design, theater, film, and music visuals. You get five different workflows, not one house style.
🏁 Final Result
- A series of finished posters across typographic, event, theater, and film/album briefs, built from concept to execution with attention to composition, color, and typography — ready to show as portfolio work.
