Create complex patterns which repeat to infinity
Creating unique patterns with an identity stamp is a challenge nowadays but exploring your creativity and skipping the rules of the pattern design you can achieve it. In this course you will learn how to make a stamped technique ( half drop ) to create more complex patterns without the repetition being appreciated.

Mónica Muñoz, better known as Moniquilla, will teach you all her secrets so that the repetition is more like a brick wall than a grid, thanks to her experience as a textile designer, creating patterns and prints for brands such as Zara, Introphia, Urban Outfitters , Sainsbury’s or Häagen-Dazs.

If you still have no experience in pattern design, you can also learn different techniques to develop and apply patterns in your first course in Domestika ” Reasons to repeat “.

What will you learn in this online course?
You will start the course knowing Mónica Muñoz, who will tell you how she came to the world of printing, by a mixture of vocation and chance. You will see some of his most representative works and the influences that have motivated him the most to specialize and experiment in this art.

Mónica will explain what is the quincunx and the different types of rapports that exist. You will know the materials you will need to work on your detailed prints and the Adobe Photoshop tools that you will use.

You will discover pages and designers that will inspire you to then make a moodboard or inspiration panel, where you will analyze the color, choose a color palette and focus your illustration based on it.

You will create the sketch of your pattern with a pencil to have a rough approximation of the illustration, and then start making composition decisions and start coloring.

You will digitize your illustration or illustrations, to start working with each element in Photoshop, you will edit it until you achieve the color and effect you want for later, through several steps that you will follow in the hand of Mónica, get a rapport in quincunx.

To finish, you will check that everything is perfect and you will create the repetition with the instructions to save and export the project. You will learn to make a quality mockup to show it in a professional way and, finally, Monica will give you some tips to promote your print in digital media.

Requirements and materials
To do this course you do not need to know how to draw or polish like a professional, but you must have basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop. Monica will use watercolor as a painting technique but you can use the technique and drawing process that inspires you the most, with markers, pencils or pens.

On the materials, you will need a computer with Adobe Photoshop and the drawing tools that you want to use to make your project a reality.
