Fantastic stories, full of action and adventure: There are no limits to creativity in manga comics. Experts in this illustration style, the award-winning creative duo Giovana and Paulo, better known as Eudetenis, will teach you how to bring engaging characters to life step by step.

In this course, you will learn how to create a complete model sheet in pencil that shows your character’s different perspectives and details in manga style. Alongside Giovana and Paulo, you’ll discover all the techniques to give movement and personality to your creation, from the concept to the final artwork.

What will you learn in this online course?
You’ll get to know Giovana and Paulo from the creative duo Eudetenis and their professional trajectories. You’ll also see some of their main artistic influences, including productions by prestigious mangakas, successful anime designs, and eastern and western cinematographic references.

Then you will start the pre-production of your project. The Eudetenis duo will make a brief introduction to the manga, telling you about its main styles and profiles and, based on this information, you will define the characteristics of your character, including gender, physical size, and motivation, in addition to knowing the necessary materials for your creation.

In the next phase, you will move on to the production of your final project. You’ll learn in detail about human body proportions, movement and volume techniques, dress rules, and head and face proportions to bring your character to life from scratch.

You’ll complete your character by crafting a professional model sheet with various manga-style poses and profiles. Giovana and Paulo will teach you how to digitize and adjust your illustration in Photoshop. Finally, they will give you tips on promoting your work, through a physical or digital portfolio, on social networks.

Requirements and materials
Prior knowledge is optional to take this course.

As for materials, you will need 2B graphite pencils, a colored pencil set with at least 12 colors, white paper, an eraser, a lightbox, a pen, and a linear. To digitize and edit your creations, you will need a scanner and a computer with photo editing software installed, which can be Adobe Photoshop CC used in this course or another program of your choice.
