Learn to design, approach and coordinate the creation of fashion garments
Wendy’s cottage – brand of which Inés Aguilar is a designer, creative director and founder – has two decades of experience in the fashion sector. His collections, which are especially striking prints, the selection of colors and materials, are sold internationally in prestigious stores.
In the course of Design of textile prints Inés teaches you how to design rapports for manual printing and digital; In this, you will learn to pose and understand the entire fashion design process, with special emphasis on moodboard and inspiration, which will guide you when creatively managing a fashion collection.
About this course
To begin, you will look for a theme to base your fashion collection on. You will investigate on that theme and create a moodboard and a notebook with a lot of inspiring images.
From this theme, you will select a chromatic range, draw the figurine, design the silhouettes and choose the materials that will make the garments of your collection.
Next you will draw the garments in detail and you will elaborate the technical sheet, an essential document that should serve to communicate to the workshops and patrons all the characteristics of the collection once they are sent to production.
Ines will open the doors of your studio and show you how the patterns of each garment are and then you will see a prototype or a toile on which you will make some corrections, so you can see the complete production process from inside.
The next step will be to see the finished garments in the final fabrics. In that moment Ines will stop at the detail and will talk about the finishes, techniques, fabrics and silhouettes of the garments she designs for La casita de Wendy.
Finally, you will see with Inés the catalog of the complete collection, which will help you understand the meaning of the entire collection.
