Learn, from scratch, to design, model and render your own characters
Zigor Samaniego – 3D designer specialized in designing characters – has created an authentic universe of adorable 3D characters in which shapes, colors and textures reign. This bestiary, which he publishes assiduously on his social networks and has modeled with ZBrush and Cinema4D, has fallen in love with clients such as Prada, Maxon, Nickelodeon and Nestlé.

In his previous courses: Express introduction to the 3D: from scratch to render with Cinema 4D , Lettering 3D: modeling and texturing with Cinema 4D and 3D animation for non-animators with Cinema 4D taught you to exploit the possibilities of Cinema4D. In this course, you will learn to lose the fear of ZBrush and use it, as a complement to the first one, to design, model and render your own characters, turning these two programs into the perfect tools to shape your designs.

About this course
You will begin by getting to know more about Zigor’s work, who will tell you about his inspiration when creating 3D characters. In addition, it will explain the advantages of using ZBrush with respect to Cinema4D to create your characters.

Afterwards, it will introduce you to ZBrush: it will show you the main tools that this software offers, it will explain how to use the modeling options and it will help you to personalize your workspace.

In addition, it will tell you how to install an extension so you can move your designs from one program to another automatically, making it much easier workflow.

You will do a search of references for your characters, you will model with ZBrush and you will use Cinema4D to add details such as materials, hair and lights and you will make the final render of the scenes of your characters. To finish you will make a render with Octane and you will give the finishing touches with Photoshop.

What is this course’s project?
You will design two characters: one soft and rubbery for a company of sweets and another furry and fun as a mascot for a shopping center.

Who is it for?
To designers, illustrators, animators and anyone who wants to start using ZBrush for the design and modeling of their characters.

What you need
Basic knowledge of 3D is necessary and although Zigor will explain everything you need to know about ZBrush, you will have to use Cinema4D with some ease.

Regarding the materials, you will need a computer in which you must have installed ZBrush, Cinema4D and an image editing program such as Photoshop. In addition, you will need a rendering engine; Zigor will use Octane, but you can use the one you like the most.
