This class will focus on learning the specifics of animal anatomy, with the ultimate goal of using this knowledge to complete a finished piece. The students will first cover animal anatomy basics through exploratory drawings and comparative anatomy, and then will select an animal or creature subject of their choosing. The instructor will work with each student individually, providing detailed reference and hands-on help as the students learn the specific anatomy of their subject through tracings, cross-referencing, and ecorche’ drawings. This knowledge will then be used to produce a final, completed piece, in which the student will showcase their learned knowledge of the creature’s anatomy in a compelling and dynamic way.
