/

Release date:2019

Author:Jonathan Gonzalez

Skill level:Beginner

Language:English

Exercise files:Yes

In this course we’ll tackle the 2D development aspects in Unity. We can use Unity to not only build 3d games but to build 2d games and apps as well. 2D is quite well suited for mobile and lower performance platforms but can be equally amazing on bigger platforms. Things we’ll discuss in this course include:

Importing and using sprites and sprite sheets
Slicing sprite sheets
Simple animations
Using Effectors
Utilizing layers
2D physics components
Combining 2D and 3D elements
We’ll finish off the course by building a simple 2D platformer as we did with the Fundamentals of Physics course to show you how you can quickly and easily build a 2D game using premade assets that Unity has provided. By the end of this course you should have a good understanding of the basics of using 2D to build games, apps or anything that revolves around a 2D environment.
