In this video lesson, we are excited to share with you a past online workshop with master artist, Steve Huston. In this two day workshop, Steve utilizes his thorough teaching style to help you build a basic skill set in figure drawing. In this first part, Steve will cover the main ideas behind his approach, beginning with a thorough introduction to Gesture and Structure, and finishing with some drawing demonstrations from photo reference.

This is the second part of the workshop, in which Steve discusses and demonstrates the ideal balance and stability of a figure’s gesture, explains the importance of connecting a series of gestures to guide the viewer’s eye, describes the visual components of gesture and structure, and shows that modifying and building onto a gesture can sometimes change the drawing altogether.

    • this is how our installation workes. You can watch it despite this message, or wait until the server converts it to a smaller size

        • Correct, since we started this project using low-end hardware “what-we-have” hard drive space was really important. I’ve spent a month researching how to compress video and audio to get the smallest size, acceptable encoding time and moderate-to-good stream quality. Thanks for the feedback.
